Personification

Well, wanted to send this at 5, but my browsers here at home thought otherwise. Things seem to be working now, so let me quickly review personification for you:

Remember, first, that personification is when we give non-human things human traits, actions, or abilities.

For example:

The plant coughed and choked because its soil was so dry.

The non-human thing is the plant.

The human action is coughing.

The purpose of the personification is to show that the plant is dying.

So much more creative than just saying, "The plant is dying."
