Judy Garland - Over The Rainbow (Subtitiles)
Nice! Another great song for our "Green Is the New Black" unit!
So, here is a summary of our evaluation from Period 1:
Repeating lines: Throughout the song, "Somewhere over the rainbow" gets repeated.
Rhymes: lullaby/high/fly/I
blue/true
star/far
Simile in the song: "Where troubles melt like lemon drops." This is a simile because Judy Garland is comparing her troubles disappearing like a candy melting away in your mouth.
Theme: If you believe in something enough, you can make it happen! So, there really is a place where we can travel to...over the rainbow! :)
