In the chapter after this, Henry talks with Doris and she claims that she is clumsy, that's why she has so many bruises. Henry is suspicous that she's not clumsy and that Mr. Hairston is to blame. Doris warns Henry to watch out for her father!
Finally, Mr. Hairston really surprises the reader and Henry. Henry tells Mr. Hairston about not having a monument for Eddie. Mr. Hairston says that he can actually help because his friend Barstow creates monuments. Mr. Hairston says that maybe it can happen and Henry feels so excited.
