Writing Guidelines for Writer's Workshop

Here are all the guidelines that you came up with during class today.  By following these guidelines we will not only become successful writers, but we will also become better students and partners.  

Writing Guidelines for 1st

•Stay on topic

•Use indoor voices

•Follow directions and follow through

•During writing, only the most important questions will be asked.

•Stay alert for timing and directions

•Make good use of your time

Writing Guidelines for 2nd

•Stay focused on your task

•Talk with partner when instructed

•Pay attention the first time during instructions

•We can ask a question after a while and we’ve worked on figuring it out ourselves.

Writing Guidelines for 5th

•If we work hard, we could be rewarded with praise, free time, or other things

•We will talk during appropriate times

•We need to work well with our partners

•Think hard about your question before you ask it.

•Listen carefully to the lesson.

Writing Guidelines for 6th

•We might work with a different partner once in a while

•Come prepared to class with journal and pen

•Stay organized

•Stay focused on the task

•We would like more conferences and check ups

•We will talk at appropriate times

•Pick good partners to work with

•Think hard before you ask a question

•Listen to mini-lessons carefully

•Stay focused on the task at hand
