How to Answer ELA Short Responses (7 on the test)

1) Underline what you need to answer in the question.

2) Circle different tasks that you might need to accomplish.  Hint:  some questions want you to answer two or more things. 

3) Rephrase the question and turn it into your topic sentence.

4) State your first reason to support your answer.

5) Explain your first reason to support your answer.

6) State your second reason to support your answer.

7) Explain your second reason to support your answer.

8) Conclude your paragraph in a fun/creative/intelligent way.  Don’t just say, “In conclusion,” or “This is why.”
